Wedding Weekend!!

This weekend was our big wedding weekend! The day was so nice, a great day for a wedding, and everything went very smoothly.  I was privileged to be a part of Megan and Matt's big day and am very happy that I was able to spend the special day with them.

Here is four out of five of the girls in the wedding at the rehearsal dinner.

Here are some pictures from the wedding!  The bride and I....

Here is a pic of Tyler and I!  We actually graduated high school together.  It was fun to catch up with her and spend some time with old friends that I don't see very often this weekend!

Mommy and Addie!  Isn't her flower adorable!?  We had several complements on it and it really topped off her dress!!!  Dan thought it was too big, but I think it is pretty adorable!

My friend Chelsea, Addie, and I during the dance.

Addie was pretty tired and fell asleep on her daddy.  Addison stayed for some of the dance, but went home with my parents and stayed there for the night.  She is not a big one for staying up late.  It makes her pretty grumpy the next day!

Dancing with the groom.  Addie really just liked watching the lights!

My beautiful family!

We learned that Addie LOVES to dance!  We would sit her on the floor and away she would boogie!  The floor wasn't the cleanest, so we didn't let her down too often, but she took every opportunity she could to dance to the music!

When she had the opportunity she would also try to crawl out the dance floor and here is our friend Adam going right along with her!  She loved it!

My friends Brandi and Kayln, also high school friends!!

Another one with the bride!!

And another with my beautiful family before Addison went home for the night.  Surprisingly she still had her flower in her hair!  The first thing Grandpa did when he picked her up was take the "thing" (as Grandpa called it) out of her hair!

I want to congratulate Megan and Matt!  May you two have many years of happiness ahead of you.  You make such a perfect couple and I am privileged to call the two of you my friends!  Thank you for making me part of your day!

45 Weeks...

Wow!  It has been a very busy week for us!  Addie is growing so fast and never ceases to amaze us each and every day!

TROUBLE!!  Addie seems to be getting into so many things these days.  Just for fun we had a little time for a free for all yesterday and within an hour this is all she was into!  She is definately a busy girl.  The only picture that was taken prior to this was the one where she is empting her dresser, which is also frequently done!  It has gotten to the point where I don't even fold most of them when I put them in, because they end up back on the floor!  She loves to open the garbage and push the foot pedal, empty the cupboards, dig in the bathroom drawers, attempt to get into the bathroom cupboard, and hit my cabinet!  Daddy really needs to get the drawer locks and cupboard locks on.  Sadly they have been sitting there waiting for him for months!  For now, mommy has to chase her around and pick up after her!  She keeps her mommy and daddy extrememly busy...that's for sure!

New things for this week...
Addie has really been doing great with her language skills.  She loves to repeat what you say if she is able to.  Today we were sitting on the couch and I said to her (as she was trying to rip daddy's magazine that he left sitting there) "you're going to make daddy mad if you rip that"  Addie responded with repeating the word "mad" to me!  Two of Addie's favorite words to repeat are "uck" and "uh-oh" and both are so cute because she already seems to know when to use them!  She hears the word uck and lot from me when she tries to stick things in her mouth that do not belong.  Which is usually several times per day!  Grandma Jen is the one who got her to start saying uh-oh!

Addie has also been acting a little braver this week.  She has started to let go of furniture and has even taken a step towards us while we had her standing on the floor with Dan and I right there.  I don't think it will be too long before she begins to walk.  And OH-BOY are we in trouble then!

Addie has also began to get upset when she sees someone going outside and she is not able to go out with them.  She loves, loves, LOVES to go outside.  She has her swing that she could sit in for hours and she just loves to watch everything that is going on around her.  It has been so hard this week because it has been extremely hot and humid here and Addie has not been feeling very well lately.  She has a little bit of a cold. We are hoping the next week we have cooler weather!

Here are some pictures from the week...

We got a little tired during lunch and fell asleep in our food!  Always makes for a cute picture!

Our cute little Addie Bug!  You can see her little teeth pretty well in this picture.  She has four on the top and four on the bottom.

Addie and mommy.  Addie attempting to kick the camera as I am taking the picture!!

When Addie gets out of bed in the morning she usually has a crazy hair look to her!  But she is always a happy girl in the morning and that is what I love!

Hanging out after getting out of bed.  We have learned that we don't get dressed until after breakfast.  Makes life a little easier for mom!

We are looking forward to my friend Megan's wedding this weekend and having some fun with Addie.  She loves to dance, so Dan and I are pretty excited to dance with our beautiful little girl!

Happy Birthday Grandma!!

This weekend we celebrated several things!  On Saturday I headed to Cedar Falls for some much needed time with the girls for my friend Megan's bachelorette party.  We had a great time!!  Addie stayed with Grandma and Grandpa H for the night since daddy has to get up so early to milk.  This was only our second night away from little Addie and our first night that all three of us slept in different places!  We all survived and I know that I am ready to sleep in my own bed tonight!

Today I came home early, did a little cleaning, and took a nap before going to get Addie!  Addie and I then went to the grocery store to get supper for Grandma's b-day party!  The rest of our day (before our guests arrived) was spent playing and picking up after Addie!  I think she emptied the drawer with the measuring cups three times today!!  Addie then helped mommy cook supper for Grandma's birthday(which was actually yesterday)!  We had spaghetti, garlic bread, salad, and of course cake and ice cream!  We had a blast and Addie loved seeing all her grandparents!

Addie with Grandma and her cake!  She really wanted to dig in, but she only has about two more months until she is able to dig into hers!

Addie with Grandpa and Grandma.  Also doing something silly with her arms that Grandpa had just showed her!

Addie and her Great Grandma and Grandpa.

Addie with Auntie Em and Ryan!

We all had a great weekend!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY "AMMA"!!!!!!!!!!  We love you!!

44 Weeks!

Addie is 44 weeks today.  The weeks seem to be going faster and faster.  Before we know it summer will be all over with... *sigh* .... I am not a fan of winter and really not looking forward to any of that white stuff anytime soon!  It is also only 8 weeks until miss Addison is 52 weeks old!  A whole year.  I have really been party planning happy this week!  It is SO much fun and I can not wait until she is old enough to participate in all the planning!

We plan on fully soaking up what is left of summer!  And what better way to do that other than SWINGING!!  Max was gracious enough to give Addie one of his swing sets to enjoy.  It is not the biggest thing in the world, but it was free and Addie absolutely LOVES it!  She would swing for hours if we let her.
Addie has always loved to give kisses and will give you a nice sloppy open-mouth kiss if you ask for one!  Well, now she now can blow you kisses!!  So if you really don't want all that slobber with the kiss, you can opt for one of these.  She is so adorable when she does these things!

She has also learned to whistle!  In her own way anyway!!!  I really can't take credit for this, but Great Grandma sure can!  She was the one who really taught her to whistle.  It is hard to explain what she exactly does, but she really just makes this face the blows really hard through her teeth.  It makes a little of a whistling sound, but mostly sounds like she is doing Lamaze!  Another adorable act of Addison's!

Tonight Addie was a little impatient to read her book after her bath!  She crawled all naked to her books and started reading herself.  So independent!!  She wasn't all too happy when I caught her to get her pajamas on.

One of our games that never seems to get old is peek-a-boo.  She loves to play behind the curtains and just about anything she can peek at you from behind.  Here she is peeking from behind a door.  She thought she was the silliest thing!

She also loves to dance with her singing Violet.  It also plays bedtime music for her and I play it some nights when she is still going strong way past her bedtime.  Violet seems to calm her down!

As far as sleeping Addie has been doing great this week!  We followed the doctor's orders of giving ibuprofen and Tylenol together and it worked great!  She slept throught the night last night with no medicine (just some Orajel).  It is so great to get some sleep again.  Speaking of sleep, I am thinking it sounds pretty good right now!  Thanks for stopping!

MOOOO.....

Yesterday Dan was able to show his dairy cows for the very first time!  Dan had them ready nice and early for the fair and Addie and I met up with him later.  Addie had a blast watching the cows all day.  She kept calling them Emma, but towards the end of the day we had her saying "moo" with us!

Here are some pictures from our day...

Dan won a blue ribbon for the dry cow that we took and placed 9th with his other cow.  Not too bad for a first timer!!

And of course a picture of our Addie!  What is a post without one of those?!!
