It is just amazing how much Addison learns and grows each month.  It is so hard to believe that in two months we will be celebrating her first birthday.  A year since she was born.  Wow, time sure does fly!  Here are some pictures we took outside today.  Addie and I enjoy swinging on our swing and watching Emma, Kitty, and the cows!  She wears Emma out yelling her name all the time!  Emma is up and down, up and down, going to Addie when she calls her name!  What a great life on the farm!

~Be sure to scroll down to see Addison's nine months pictures!~

nine month pics!

Addie's nine month pictures are here!  I wrote about how hard it was for Nichole and I to get a smile out of this little stinker.  We did just about everything other than run around the block naked to get this girl to smile.  Just wasn't her day I guess.  But as you can see, even though Addie was one of the most stubborn children that day, Nichole actually was able to create her magic and get us some amazing pictures yet again!  Be sure to check out Nichole Priebe's blog (which has a link to her website) in my blog list!

So here they are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That Nichole is SO sneaky.  I didn't even know she was snapping this picture.  I did not dress nor do my hair for pictures that day!  Guess I got my 'get out the house quick mommy look' goin' on!
Thank you Nichole for putting up with our little un-smiley child!  Praying that her one year pictures go a little more smoothly!

43 Weeks...

AH-DEE...yes this is just one of Addie's new words for the week.  Her name!!  We have been working with her on it and she has finally got the hang of it!  Dan and I had that ah-ha moment when she was playing peek-a-boo with herself in the mirror and she would say "ah-dee" when she saw herself!  Addie knows her name, she knows who she is...what an accomplishment!  We are so proud of our little Addie bug!

The other word she has really began to learn the meaning for is "baba."  She has been able to say this word for quite some time, but to put baba into wanting her bottle is new for Addie!  She has also began talking gibberish, almost like she is talking in another language with you!  She also laughs with you when you are laughing.  It is almost like she is a little adult - love it!!

This is the list (in order learned) of the words Addie is able to say and know the meaning:
1. dada
2. mama
3. Emma
4. Max
5. kitty
6. Addie
7. baba

Addie continues to get a little more daring each week with letting go of objects for a short time as she stands against them.  She has not attempted to take any steps yet...but I'm really not sure I am ready for that anway.  She already gets into so much trouble crawling.  I can not begin to imagine the kind of trouble she will begin cause when she begins to walk!

Sleeping has not been going so well for Addie this week.  She is up several times per night crying and wants to sleep with her mommy and daddy.  Her teeth are really giving her a hard time this go around.  I called the doctor today to check on using Tylenol and Ibuprofen together so that she would have enough relief during the night.  We will see how it goes!  Dan and I are so ready for a good nights sleep again!

Addie's appetite has also seemed to decrease a little.  I read in my What to Expect the First Year book that this is normal as they become more active.  I also think it has a little to do with the teething.  Although she did accomplish one milestone with eating this week...Addie can now drink from a cup!  She does very well and barely gets any water on her.  That is all I have put in her cup so far and she loves it!

Yummy, yummy, watermelon!

Sleepy, sleepy, girl!  Guess her nap was more important than eating the rest of her food!

As you may be able to tell, pictures of Addie sitting still are few and far between (unless she is sleeping of course)!  So we just take them while she is on the go!

Thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy your week!!

Fun with Uncle Max!

Addison and Max kept busy building their big Lego dinosaur yesterday!  Or should I say...Addie had a great time trying to knock down the dinosaur when the chance would arrive...Max yelling "Sarah!"...Mommy running in Addie's room to get Addie away from dinosaur....only to be yelled at SO many times that I ended up helping Max (and Addie) build the giant thing!  But we had LOTS of fun building our BIG Lego dinosaur!!

I now wish I would have taken a side-view picture.  This crazy dinosaur does have a nose and a tail!  Built with LOVE!!

Early this morning we had another heifer calf!  Second one of the week!  We took Addie out this morning to see her.  The one born yesterday we named Lou and the one born today (pictured below) we named Hannah.  We name the calf with the first letter of the mom's name...if you were wondering!!

We are looking forward to the weekend!  No plans yet, but sometimes those are the best weekends!!

42 Weeks...

Forty-two weeks today!  The weeks seem to pass so quickly these days!  Today we finally went for our nine month pictures.  We had to go without daddy because we just couldn't work into our photographers schedule with his schedule...so it was just mommy and Addie today.  It turned out to be a difficult session with smiles few and far between.  It didn't matter what kind of silly things Nichole and I would come up with, Addie would have none of it! I think that many factors contributed. First of all we went in the morning and Addie really is not a morning baby, second we have teeth bothering her, and third daddy was not with us.  Daddy is the one that can really make her laugh.  I think she just gets a little bored with me since she is with me all the time and she thinks that daddy is just the greatest thing in the world when he is around.  So we learned that we don't take pictures in the morning, we take daddy with us, and Nichole and I need to work on our baby-laughing moves!  I have no doubt that the pictures will still turn out, but frustrating to say the least!

Addie is so active these days!  I can barely keep up with the little girl during the day.  She is always on the go, and when she knows she is about to get in trouble for where she is going...she moves even faster!  She has started to let go of the furniture and wants to walk forward, but ends up getting on the floor and crawling.  She will let go between our couch and chair to take a step, but gets a little frightened when there is nothing in sight to hold on to.

She is also talking SO much!  She is now saying "kitty" when she sees our kitties outside.  She has finally realized that not every black four-legged creature is Emma (which is still her favorite word)!  Another one of her famous sayings is "yayaya," which she crawls around saying a lot!

Her bottom teeth are FINALLY starting to peek through a little!  This will be tooth number seven and eight for her!  Because of her teething we have had to take all her fuzzy stuffed animals away from her so she would stop biting and eating their fur!  Today we did pictures outside and she kept trying to eat rocks and lily pads.  She eats ANYTHING on the floor (which is why I have to sweep every day).  She really just bites and chews anything that looks appealing to her, and I can NOT wait until this teething stage is over!

Here are some pictures we would like to share from our week...

Goofin' around with mommy...

and nappin' with daddy!!

Time for confessions!  Okay, normally I try to keep a very clean house, but the older Addison gets, the harder it is to keep it all picked up.  The problem is that as soon as I put it away, Addie honestly will crawl over and take it right back out!  So I have learned to just pick it all up at the end of the day!  And another confession...sometimes I am just too dang tired at the end of the day and they are still there the next day!  I have really learned to let go of having a spotless house.  There are SO many other important things to worry about and a little girl who deserves mommy's time!  For those of you who know me, this is a big step!  I still have not gotten over dirty dishes in the sink though...still gives me anxiety!  I'll work on it!
This was from the week at bible school.  The week I was just too dang tired to pick the house up after I got home at 9pm, scrambling to give Addie a bath, feed her a bottle, read her a book, brush her teeth, and put her to bed (much later than her normal bedtime)....after dealing with 15 Pre-K and Kindergartners all night.  I can't imagine why I had no energy to pick up her toys!  So at the end of the week we had toys shoved under the couch and ALL over the living room!

Addie was sitting on the couch with me when I looked over and she had passed out!

This weekend daddy decided to wash a couple of our cows for the fair!  Addie sat outside next to Emma to watch him.  She loves watching her daddy!

Reading one of her books!  You have to keep a close eye on her with her books or she will eat them!  Must be some delicious books!!

Addie also took her first BIG girl bath this week!  After I watched her at the pool I thought that she was ready.  The only problem is that she thinks she can just crawl all around the bath, which makes me very nervous!  Although she feels like she is really big stuff when she gets take her big girl bath!

Apparently daddy is not quick enough getting our little Addison ready!  She felt she was dressed enough with no shirt and just took off!

On that note...everyone have a great week!!

Family Trip to the Water Park!!

Today we took a trip to the water park.  To make the trip even better -- it was a free trip to the water park!  My mom's work had their fun day, so we went down to Lost Island and has LOTS of FUN!  We had perfect 95 degree weather, but along with it came the SPF 85 sunscreen for little Addie so she didn't get toasted!  Addie was unsure of the water at first, but after a few minutes warmed up to the idea of swimming...or should I say, crawling in the water!  Our first time at the water park was a success!  Addie had so much fun that she was asleep before we were out of the parking lot!

Chillin' with Grandpa...

Addie's first reaction to the water...not so good!

Holding her hands down to keep her sunglasses on!  Such a cutie.

Crawling in the water.  At one point she kept going over to another little baby about her age to take his toys from him!  She wasn't too happy that I kept taking her away.

She loved dipping her nose in the water, until we realize that she started sucking the water too!

Our little swimmer!

What a great day at the water park with the family!!
