Christmas 2011

Finally getting our Christmas post up!  We had a wonderful Christmas this year.  Addison had a blast opening presents and was thrilled with everything she received.  I don't even think I could begin to list all she got from everyone.  She is such a spoiled little girl, being the ONLY grandchild on both sides!

Just one of the many gifts that Addie received!  She loves this thing!  For now it is staying at Grandma and Grandpa G's house...until we find room!

Opening presents on Christmas Eve at Grandma and Grandpa G's.

CHRISTMAS MORNING!!  Addie was up at her normal time and we had to go out to the barn and get Daddy RIGHT away.  All those presents from Santa were taunting her!

Opening presents was fun with Addie this year!  She is so vocal and so excited about each and every thing she opened.  Yes, even her clothes!  She would start to open the present and ask, "What is it?"  We had to tell her to keep opening to find out!  She is just so dang cute!

She loves her new doll house...or "dog house" - either way she loves it!

One of Daddy's presents to Mommy was wrapped - or should I say sewn - in a feed bag.  Such a creative man!

She had a great time playing with all her presents.  It took her forever to open all of them because she would want to play with the one she opened!

Christmas Day was spent with my family.  Addie and Max had a great time...as always!

Opening more presents with my family!  Addie is so excited to put up her tire swing this summer!

Thank goodness she got some bath toys, because I don't think I could have gotten her away from all her new toys to take bath!  Now she is asking to take a bath all the time!

In her new bath robe from mommy and daddy!

Santa brought Addie a new basketball hoop.  She must have been a really good girl this year.  Her and daddy play a game every day!

This was her favorite toy, I think.  Her doll house has a mommy, daddy, and baby.  When Dan and I play with her we have to play our respective roles.  Look where daddy spends most of his time!  haha!

Last night we had our last Christmas with my mom's side of the family.  Addie got some great presents there, too!  I really have NO idea where all of these toys are going to go!

She was talking to mommy...love that girl!

 Playing with the aunts...

WOW.  What. a. Christmas.  Now on to a new year for MORE wonderful memories!  Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and has a very happy new year!

Christmas Eve...

Christmas eve was busy for us this year.  That morning we headed to the Garbes grandparent's house for Christmas with Dan's family.  Addie was more than spoiled there and after much playing and a needed nap, we headed home to get ready for church.  Addie was less than cooperative since we didn't have a very long nap and we were a little worried as we rushed to get to church.  Things are always interesting on the dairy farm when Dan usually isn't in the house by the time church begins!  We DID manage to pull it off and to our amazement, Addie did a wonderful job!

Our beautiful family!

She really didn't sing, but she sure danced to the songs!

Her favorite part (along with the rest of the kids) was ringing the bells!  I can't even tell you how many times I had to tell my Sunday school kids that we would be ringing the bells SOON!  I think that was the hardest part of the program...keeping a bunch of 3-year olds occupied while they were not up singing!

The whole group...including my class.  They all did so well!

When we arrived home we opened our Christmas pajamas, our annual tradition.  Although, we did not get a picture because Addie was asleep before we could capture on!  We will have to get one another night!

Pre-Christmas...

Preparing for Christmas always seems like a BIG job with a two year old!  Addie LOVES to help...with everything!  She's a good helper, you know!
The big job of wrapping presents.  Good thing I had Addie to help me this year!  I think she used a pound of tape on each present!

All of us girls got together one night to bake Christmas goodies.  Addie loves to bake as well, so she was in total bliss that whole night!

The only problem with frosting cookies was that Addie would lick off the frosting as soon as she put it on!  I think she ate a total of 3 sugar cookies that night.  Can you say SUGAR HIGH?!!
Catching up on posts today!  I have the day off, back to work tomorrow, but at least I have a three day week, then a three day weekend!!

(Hope this will do, since I didn't get Christmas cards out this year!)

The past few weeks...

We have been keeping busy around the Garbes farm these past few weeks.  We have had some busy weekends, but within the chaos, we usually find time to goof around...and have some pancakes.  Addie's favorite breakfast!  Look at that hair!  This is Addie every morning.  I don't know how many tosses and turns it takes to make your hair look like this, but I am guessing a LOT!

She loves playing hide and seek. Can you see where Addie is?!!

"Peek-a-boo!"

Addie has four uncles who put up with a LOT!  Like getting their nails painted!
Uncle Mike was such a trooper as Addie painted his nails pink!

Addie also enjoys building with blocks!

On Thursday Max had his Christmas concert.  He did so well, and Addie had a blast watching and playing, too! The arrow is pointed at Max!

On the way out of the concert...HOW CUTE!  Max is such a good little Uncle to Addie!

Now, here we are...Christmas week!  Time sure does fly! I'm thinking the next few weeks will be CrAzY busy around here!

Christmas decorating...

We decorated the majority of the house for Christmas last week, but I continue to work on little touches.  This Christmas we put up the tree, but not near the ornaments that we usually have.
You see, there is a TWO year old that lives in this house and she thinks that those
little decorations are soooo pretty.
BUT the mommy in this house decided NOT to pick the battle of keeping the little TWO year old from touching the pretties.  SO our tree this year is filled with ALL non-breakable ornaments.
Let me tell you, it has saved LOTS of hassle around here!

Addison LOVED helping with the Christmas tree.

...pretties!

the final product...

I wanted to get a picture of Addie in front of the tree, but of course that didn't happen.  Going to try another night!  Happy Decorating!

Momma's "GOOD" helper...

Addie loves to help out around the house. Whether it is baking, cleaning, folding laundry, or really anything that mom or dad are doing...she is a "good helper" as she says.  I love that she shows interest in the tasks that NEED to be done around the house each day.  This way we get to spend a little more time together!

Like I said, she LOVES doing dishes.  I really think it is just the thrill of playing with the bubbles, but she does well!

Here she is helping with the vacuum.  I remember the days when she was terrified of the thing!  Now she is a little vacuuming machine!

Baking in the kitchen.  She LOVES to help mommy bake!  Whatever we are baking Addie calls it "apple crisp."  I am not sure why...but she must have really enjoyed baking apple crisp this fall.
I'm just hoping that this lasts through her teenage years!  I know, wishful thinking.  At least I have proof that she once helped me around the house.  It's going to be fun to show her all the blog posts one day!!

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Continuing with the catch-up!  Dan celebrated his birthday last Sunday...he has now caught up with me! :)
The picture above is the best picture we were able to capture of the two.  Let's just say that Miss Addie was not the most cooperative child that night!

Addie got Daddy balloons for his birthday.  She loves balloons and most certainly thought that daddy would too!  I mean, who wouldn't love a Rapunzel balloon from Addison?!!

Addie also helped put ALL 26 candles on daddy's cake...moved them around about 100 times...AND ate some of the cool whip!  "I'm a good helper, Mom!" she says!

Helping daddy blow out his candles!!

Happy Birthday to a VERY special person!  We love you VERY much, Daddy!

Thanksgiving 2011

...a little belated!  I have really been behind on posts, but attempting to catch up tonight!

We had a quiet Thanksgiving with each of our families.  Addie did well at all of them and ate like a little pro!

Playing games...Addie REALLY wanted to help, but you can imagine what would have happened!

It is amazing how much Addie grows from year to year!
We hope everyone had a very happy Thanksgiving holiday!
