Baseball!!

Okay, catching up AGAIN!! Last Thursday Addie and I went to Max's baseball game.  It was terribly HOT, but we survived!  Addie ended up eating tons of ice from the cooler, even after she dropped it on the ground!  I think everyone but me thought it was funny!

Addie loves watching Uncle Max!  You can see him running to 1st base!

Our 21 month old goofball...

On Wednesday Addie was 21 months old!!  She grows and amazes us each and every day!  I could never express just how much Dan and I LOVE being her parents!!  She is a wonderful little girl!

What's going on at 21 months?.....
~ She loves playing outside, especially at the park.  She can't get enough of the slides.  Up and down she goes!  She climbs around the play equipment all on her own and is very independent.
~ She can dress herself!  She typically need help getting a shirt over her big head, but can dress herself otherwise.  She loves the fact that she can be independent.  Sometimes she comes out with a different pair of pants on if she is playing in her room!
~ Her vocabulary just grows and grows.  She is such a smart little girl and I even have other people saying that to us.  It makes a momma feel good to hear that about her little girl!  She puts small sentences together, usually no more than three words, but she gets her point across.  She points out everything to anyone who will listen to her.  I don't think there are many days that go by where she doesn't surprise me with a new word she knows.  She yells, "Mom, Mom, MOM!"  I respond, and today she says, "look, sky!"  Completely random...that's what I love about it!!
~ Everyone talks about the terrible two's and the tantrums that come with them.  We defiantly have experienced some of these!  MOST days Addie is a really great little girl who listens and goes an entire day without getting in trouble, but there are days that are rough...to say the least.  Typically it is due to being tired, so I try my hardest to work our schedule around her nap to avoid this, but sometimes it is just impossible.
~ She is doing well with potty training.  Still working on going poo on the potty, but she's got the rest down.  We still have trouble sometimes when we are playing outside at a park or somewhere other than home.  We also have trouble when we try to put undies on.  She wets them all the time!  I am not sure why, because she won't wet her pull-up, but I guess we will keep working on that!  Most of the time at home I put a dress on her and let her run without any bottoms on.  She loves the freedom!!
~ She is learning opposites like up/down, front/back, in/out, over/under, open/close, etc.  When she would do these things I'd tell her what she was doing and she caught on pretty quickly.  She especially likes the up/down when she is jumping around the house.  She is always jumping and skipping everywhere we go!
~ Oh, MY.  This girl LOVES her babies!  I know I have said it before, but this is absolutely her favorite thing to play with.  It is so adorable to watch her talk to them, and now she answers for them!  I will hear her say, "Eat, baby?  Yes."  Like the baby is answering her.  She feeds them, burps them, tends to them when they cry (or she pushes the button) and she always seems so concerned about them and their well-being.  It is just amazing to see how her mind works and how much she is learning.
~ She is definitely a Momma's girl.  If I am around she tends to just want her mommy (which is quite alright with me!).  She is shy when strangers are around or someone she doesn't see often, but easily warms up after awhile.  She typically doesn't run off without someone with her.  She likes to take hands, but I have noticed these past couple of weeks she has gone a little further without someone with her.  Not to the point that it makes me nervous, so she does well!

I think that is about it for updates, so here are some pictures we have taken lately.  She is doing better with smiling (sometimes) because I tell her she can see the picture after we take it!

Our trip to the pool today.  We had lots of family there and my cousins came with us, along with Uncle Max!  I was thankful I had lots of help with Addie.  She tends to wear a person out!  I think she went down the slide about 15 times while we were there!  We all took her down, and she absolutely LOVED the slide!!  She was so brave in the water and it didn't bother her to walk to water that was shoulder deep!  She also liked getting on the side of the pool and jump in!

We were also there for the penny dive!  Addie had a hand full of pennies and would not give up her money!  The newspaper guy wanted to take her picture, but she would not show him her pennies!
We had a blast today.  I was a little crisp from the day, even after applying spf 50 a couple of times!  Addie is fine, I applied spf 85 on her!  We are looking forward to going back soon!  Now, for a long weekend celebrating the 4th!!  Have a good one!

Our weekend...

I feel like I am always trying to catch up on blog posts these days.  I am finally getting around to posting pictures from last weekend!  It was our town's celebration so we had lots to do!!

On Friday morning we headed to feed the ducks.  I had a lunch date planned with two of my friends from Hospice, so I thought we would make a day of it!  Max hung with us that day, and both Addie and Max had a blast!

Addie LOVES water.  She calls it a "iver" missing the 'R'!

After lunch we went to the park to play...

This picture cracks me up!  Both of them continued to fail to pay attention to the camera!

This is one for graduation (In another 17 years)!!  She kept wanting to go down the slide, but this was her face the first few times!! HILARIOUS!!  She was giggling when she got off, though.  She is such a little daredevil!

I could not believe how independent she has gotten at the park.  She climbs EVERYTHING on her own and loves all slides!  No slide has been too big for her yet!

After the park we had about an hour before we had to be at another park for the cancer walk.  Addie took a quick nap, and away we went...again!!  She was such a great trooper through it all and slept REALLY well that night!  This was our group at the walk...

On Saturday Addie met me at the pancake breakfast and had her favorite breakfast of all time!  My mom then took her to the parade and I met up with them.  Boy, does that girl like to fetch candy...and eat it!  Thank goodness things are still easy to hide from her.  After her nap, we headed in to the park, jumped on a jumpy thing for little kids, and attempted to ride the kiddy train.  She was all for it, until it began to move.  The guy had to stop so I could get her off!!  After that we hung out and watched Uncle Mike and Uncle Steve play dodge ball.  Which was also a good time!  I don't know about everyone else, but the weekends seem to be flying by!  Lots of plans for this weekend as well!!  Everyone have a safe 4th of July holiday!!

Love-Hate Relationship

Most of the time, Addie and the kitty are the best of friends...

but sometimes, she gets frustrated with kitty.  Especially when kitty lets Addie feel her little claws!

She loves to pick kitty up and take her places...

Seriously...this kitty will be lucky to make it out alive with Addison as a playmate!

This weekend we get to pick up some more kittens for the farm!!  We are going to keep one in the house, so Addie has a pet!  Also, to keep the few mice we found around the house this spring and fall OUT!!  I am not a big fan of animals in the house, because it is more cleaning, but I would MUCH rather have a cat in the house, than a mouse!!  Oh, the wonderful things about living on a farm!!

A Post of Random Thoughts....

Father's Day was wonderful, but SO busy for us.  We had breakfast with my family, took Dan out for lunch, and had Dan's family out for supper that evening.  It gets tough trying to fit time in with everyone, but well worth it!  It would not be Father's Day if I wasn't able to spend it celebrating all the wonderful fathers in my family!!  Here are some more pictures from our day...

Kitties are doing well.  We have lost two, but the last two are doing really well.  Addie loves playing with them and helping feed them.  I am trying to wean them from the bottle, which seems to be just as difficult as it was with Addie!

We went to Menard's this weekend and purchased all new interior doors for the house.  The doors that are currently here are original to the house and some are not in the greatest shape.  Addie's door is so squeaky that you have to be careful not to wake her when you open/close it.  We went today to pick them up and I am hoping to have them installed within the next few weeks.  As of now they are sitting in the middle of the house.  We still have made no progress on Addison's room (minus the painting).  I REALLY need to get on decorating that!  My dilemma is this... She is still in her crib and has no bed set for a "big girl" bed.  I want her room to match that set, but don't really want to purchase it this early.  So we will see what I figure out.  I really don't think Addie knows the difference anyway.

Work...ugh!  I honestly do not know how full-time working mom's keep up with everything!  I think I have been too spoiled with my part time job!  Working three full days in a row is SOOO tiring!  On those three days, nothing gets done around the house, so I feel like Thursday is my catch up day.  Another day of "work."

I got my new camera in the mail yesterday!!  Dan and Addie got me the Nikon touch screen for Mother's Day and I just was not happy with it.  The first one I got didn't even work!  It would not take pictures, so I took that back and exchanged it.  They thought it was just a faulty camera.  I used the replacement for a few days it it would only take blurry pictures!  So, I decided to take that back and opt for the brand of camera I had before.  I had a Casio Exilim, and loved it until it broke, so I got another one!  It is a much better camera and about half the price.  Can't beat it!

This weekend is going to be another busy one.  It is our town's annual celebration and we plan on attending a few of the events.  On Friday we are "Walking for a cure" in the park.  I have to help out with the parade and pancake breakfast on Saturday morning and then plan on going to the park for Addie to play. Church on Sunday, then I hope to get some help from my brothers on the doors.

Have a great weekend!!
