No. 22 & 23: Movie and a nap!

Winter has finally hit Iowa.  We now have a few inches of snow and it is COLD!  This weekend we decided to make a day of it IN the house.  We had the brothers over for dinner on Saturday, then we took a FAMILY nap.  It was wonderful! (and another item checked off our list)  Saturday night we made it a movie night...popcorn and all!

My parents got us a Nintendo Wii for Christmas and Dan has been hounding me to sign up for Netflix ever since.  So, this weekend I decided we would sign up for the free 30-day trial and see if we liked it or not.  I thought we would then find a movie for last night.  Only one problem...we don't have fast enough internet.  The movie has to pause and load every few minutes...BUMMER!  Long story short....we not only got Netflix this weekend, but switched internet as well!  It should be installed in the next few days!  THEN we can watch movies!!

We were then forced to turn to our DVD collection and found "Bedtime Stories."  Dan insisted it be a movie we ALL could tolerate!  Addie watched parts of it, and played with her babies during other parts!

Okay, the girl does NOT smile with her eyes open for nothing!  No, she is not sleeping!!
I think we need to cuddle on the couch more often!!

No. 80...Cave of Stars!

Well, I didn't plan on the cave of stars being the first activity met on our list, but it just so happened that I had JUST the right box for it!  So, when I got home from work tonight, this was our first task...

It was SO simple.  I just took a strand of lights, cut holes in the top of the box, and stuck them through.

Addie oooooed (literally) over the box.  She loved it!!

She called it her house, and would pretend she was snoring in the box.

I found the idea on Pinterest.  Love the simplicity of keeping a two year old occupied -- for a few days anyway!
Click HERE for the website the idea came from!

1 down, 100 to go!! I think we are off to a great start!

Watch out world...Addie is driving!

It was a great 3-day weekend!  I love having that extra day in my weekend!  Addie had a blast playing with all her toys and spending time with family.  Addie even went out to help daddy with chores.  She loves helping her daddy!

One of her gifts for Christmas was her Tangled car.  She wasn't sure of it at first, but now drives it all over my parents living room.  Thank goodness there is a lot of room in there!

She has a little to learn...like how to steer and stop the thing, but she has fun!  I am thinking she will have it down by the summer time and will be driving it all over the farm!!

Watch where you're going Addie!.....

Riding her horse.  This wasn't a Christmas present, but she often has fun with her little white horse!

Mommy and Addie (who was not being cooperative!)...
Hope everyone had a great weekend!  Four day work week!!  YAY!!

Such a good little uncle!

Max shared his ice cream with Addie today! He is such a good little uncle!
(Had to test the blogger app on my phone today)
