Wow, it has been a few months since I have updated on our growing little girl! Here we go with some random updates on Addison...
She learns new idea/concepts all the time. Sometimes it amazes me how she is problem solving instead of crying because she can't get what she wants. She loves to sing her ABC's, count, tell you colors, color pictures, paint, she even has the book "Go Dog Go" memorized for the most part! Truly amazing how much these little minds can fit in!
She is now in love with the Toy Story movies. She asks to watch "cowboy" all the time.
Absolutely in LOVE with her babies (still). She has to have several with her in bed each night, along with all her other stuffed animals. I don't know where she actually sleeps...
She is growing such an imagination! She plays on her own more and more each week. I can hear her talking and it usually cracks me up! Yesterday I was mopping the floors, so I took the dining room chairs and set them in a group of four. All the sudden Addie is sitting in them and telling me that she is a pirate! She was saying "Arrrrr" too cute! She was also yelling "Aye, Aye, Captain!"
She loves building "princess towers" with mom and dad. She also LOVES princesses. She can name all the main ones! On another note...Addie also really likes dressing herself. On this day I helped her pick out a shirt, and then she went to her dresser to get her pants. Usually I pick out all her clothes, but if we are home I let her pick them out. I think we need to work a little on color coordination!
She loves to help mommy and daddy. She was helping me clean the house yesterday and even PUT AWAY HER LAUNDRY!! When I went to check and see where all her clothes ended up, she did a pretty darn good job! I was pretty amazed! She also loves to help daddy outside. This weekend she went out and helped him move snow with the skid loader.
She definitely thinks she is IN charge!
Funny story from Dan the other morning... Apparently Addie reminds Dan to make sure he has is phone each and every morning!! I asked Dan if he has forgotten it before and he said that he forgot a few times, and ever since then she reminds him every morning! That's my girl!!
She loves playing basketball...well what she really loves to do is run around like a crazy girl as YOU play basketball. She will get the ball for you and pass it to you though...
We see the terrible twos come out of her at times, but for the most part she behaves well. I might have to sit her time-out once per week and that is about it. She now sits well in time-out, sometimes crying, and sometimes with her pouty lip out, but she sits there! She is typically very good at home and we struggle in stores. I see more of the terrible twos in her when it is close to nap or bed time, or close to meal time and she is getting hungry. So we do our best to avoid!
Loves talking on the phone. Always asking to call Uncle Max...
apparently he is pretty funny on the phone!
Still taking naps. She usually goes down for a nap after lunch for about 1 1/2 hrs to 2 hrs.
She sleeps in her big girl bed, but we still have to lay with her until she falls asleep. Bad habit, that we should probably try to break soon. We are now wearing diapers to bed again. She went for a long while when she was dry, but then we seemed to be having a few dry nights, then a few wet nights. No matter when we stopped her liquids for the night. It was the early morning we were struggling with. Dan and I debated getting her up to go potty early in the morning, but feared that she would not go back to bed. After talking with some other moms (who had 3 year olds still wearing diapers to bed) we decided to take this route for now. I think until spring time anyway. It was just too much washing sheet 3 times a week!
Addie does wonderful with the potty during the day. She has not had any accidents for months and even goes to the bathroom all on her own! She comes out pretty interesting at times...shirt tucked into pants kind of look!
She eats well, no problems in that department!
She is fascinated by snow. Loves every chance she can to go play in the snow. We always have to put her snow boots on to go outside, because she just can't avoid walking through that fluffy white stuff. Last week when I picked her up from my grandma's house, she chose to walk through the deep snow to get to my car instead of the cleared sidewalk!
She loves attention! Whenever she is out of the room for a few minutes, she returns with "here I am!"
I think that is about it for now! I just can't believe how fast she grows! I am working on our calendar for this year and it really is amazing how much difference a year can make! Don't want to forget all the little things!
