Labor Day Weekend Pics!!

My computer is back!! So now to share some pictures from the weekend!!

Helping Mommy with dishes.  Actually she was dirtying dishes as I was washing them!
Watching the Chuckwagon races.  She absolutely loved them!
Yelling at the horses...
She loved clapping with everyone.  She thought she was pretty cool!

Playing football with Grandma, Grandpa, Emma, and Max!
and....SHE ACTUALLY CRAWLED IN THE GRASS!  This is a big deal for her!  She would never do that before.  And go figure, right as summer is almost over!
Getting tickled by Uncle Mike!
I know this picture is not that good. I could not get her to look at me because she was distracted by the calves.  But I wanted to show you how big the bottle is that she keeps attempting to drink!  Silly girl!

49 Weeks...

Addie is 49 weeks today!  Could time go any quicker?  I am going to apologize in advance that there are no pictures on today's post.  My computer has a virus and is in getting fixed,  so I am on another computer doing Addison's weekly post.  I have done it so long and be darned if I don't get this week posted when we are so close to her first birthday and being done with weekly posts!

Here are some bullet points from our CrAzY week...
  • She has learned how to get down from the couch all by herself!  So funny to watch because she does it so very carefully!
  • She has learned how to say Sponge Bob, thanks to her Uncle Max who loves that show!  When Max is over he is always watching it and Addie has learned his name and goes crazy when the intro song comes on.  After the song she is done with the show (thank goodness!)!! But she is also calling her singing dog, Violet, Sponge Bob.
  • We taught her how to do "pee-eew" saying it with the hand gesture in front of the nose.  We do this when Daddy drives the tractor full of cow poo out into the pasture!
  • We learned that she loves Chuckwagon races.  Claps and yells at the horses, which she thinks are moos (cows).
  • She is still taking about two steps in between two people and at times down-right refuses to walk and gets on her hands and knees to crawl.  Stubborn little thing she is!
  • Grandma took her for the day last week and went to a friend's house to visit, and she had a chinchilla.  I am told that they brought it out for Addie to see and as clear as day she said, "what is that?"  I have been told by two people now what she said and still don't know if I believe it!
  • Grandma also swears that she had Addie saying "butterfly" when she was watching her!  She is really good at repeating what you say if you say it enough times!
  • She has learned where every button is on her toys and goes up and pushes them constantly.  Some of them have feet and tummies to push and she knows where to push it on each toy to make it sing so she can dance.
  • We have now officially weaned her from formula.  She is on full whole milk as of today, and does not seem to mind it at all.  Our only obstacle seemed to be getting her used to chilled milk instead of milk at room temperature.  I don't think Addie would really turn down anything though.
  • We have also taken away her bottle except for nap time and bed time.  Funny that she seems to want the bottle more now and will sit there and point saying "baba" if she sees one out, trying every way possible to get to it!  She does really well with her sippy cup though!
  • We have been teaching Addie how to eat with silverware.  So far it has not gone so well, but we will keep working on it!
  • Loves to say "mmmm" with every bite of food!
  • She cries when she watches Emma play fetch.  We really have not figured out the reason.  I don't know if it may be because she thinks they are her toys that Emma is chewing on...we may never know!
  • I tried to have Addie help me feed our new calf (Alexis) and she tried eating the bottle herself.  Guess we will have to wait on that one!
Okay, I think I covered most of the week! I keep thinking the older Addie gets, the less that she will learn in a week, but I guess I am wrong!  I am hoping that my computer comes back tomorrow and I will be able to post pictures!! We have several from our fun-filled Labor Day weekend! Have a good one!

Let the CrAziNeSs Begin!

The month of September is HERE!  This is one of the busiest months for our family.  It was already busy before Addie arrived almost a year ago, and she arrived just in the nick of time to add to our September chaos!  Pretty much half of our family has birthdays in September, Dan and I celebrate our anniversary (in less than a week), the start of Sunday school, and so much more!  We have a few trips planned for this month.  One to LeClaire with our friends Megan and Matt (to go see the American Pickers shop!! A show Dan and I are totally addicted to, along with Pawn Stars! Got to love the History Channel!!), one to Prairie Du Chien to the apple orchards (a yearly trip), and another to Madison for the Dairy Expo (going to make a yearly trip).

We continue planning and getting things ready for Addison's birthday party that is going to be at our new house.  We have been working a lot outside on landscaping and little things inside.  I still have some painting to finish up and windows to wash!  We have invites to finish, tutus to make, shirts to design, and I think that the rest will have to be done last minute.  I really want to stay ahead of the game!

Labor Day weekend is here and that is really what kicks off our busy, busy month!  Today we did a little grocery shopping and went to the parade this evening.  This weekend our plans consist of some family get-togethers, a date night with the handsome hubby, going to the fair, and the Chuckwagon races!  It is going to be a fun weekend!  Lets just pray that this weather warms up a little!

Here are some pictures from the parade this evening...

Yes, it was so cold that we had to dig out a hat for Addie to wear!

When we meet up with Amma and Appa they immediately snatch this little girl.  They see her at least a few times per week, but still don't seem to get enough of Addie!  She is SOOO spoiled!  Oh, and notice her little pointer...
Enjoy your Labor Day weekend!  Stay tuned for a post on our exciting weekend!

Oh, and how do you like the fall theme for the blog?  It was cold today and I was in the fall mood!  Got out all my fall stuff for the house too!

48 Weeks...

Addie and I had quite a day yesterday.  Dan had to have his oil changed, and our routine has always been that we take both vehicles, Dan drops his off, we go for lunch, and then go pick his up.  And that is exactly what we did.  When we picked up Dan's vehicle, he said that he was also going to run through the car wash and wouldn't be far behind us, so Addie and I headed for home.  Coming out of town there is two lanes, I was headed South in the right lane coming up on a truck that was also headed South, but he was in the left lane, slowing down to take a left turn. The lady we hit was heading North and also was going to take a left turn, but she didn't see us behind this truck so she turned.  Addie and I had absolutely no time to stop the vehicle and hit her truck near the back end.  She tried to step on the gas to avoid the accident, but the unfortunate happened.  The speed limit there had just turned 55, so I was cruising pretty fast.  Thank goodness that when Dan and I found out we were expecting we went out right away and bought a vehicle with high safety ratings for things like this.  Addie and I barely felt anything upon impact, but that lady said that she was very sore.  It mangled up the front end of my vehicle, but other than that everyone was okay.  I thank God that no one was hurt, especially our Addie.  Because it was that lady's fault I am waiting to hear back from her insurance company on my vehicle.  I will also be checking on the use of the car seat.  The airbags in my car did not go off, so I am wondering if I should get a new one or not.  I will talk to their insurance company, but for now just use Dan's.  So, kind of a drama filled day!

Later that evening we needed some R&R.  I picked up Max after school so he could come out and play with Addie.  We ended up having a picnic outside and playing until the sun was about to go down!  And of course I took a LOT of pictures.  We had so much fun.  Just goes to show how precious life is and not to take any day for granted.

Our picnic outside.  This is the picnic table I found at a garage sale for $10.  Love when I can find this stuff.  Addie sat so well on the picnic table and when she was all done she got off all by herself!

I was surprised how well Addison ate for all the distractions she had around her.

And good ol' Emma was there to pick up all the dropped pieces.  Except the carrots of course!

She had a blast with eating outside.  She loves going outside so much that there are times when she already throws fits if we don't take her out!

After we were done eating we played on Addie's little climber.  This is actually a climber I had when I was little!  It is very sturdy.  I don't think they make things like that anymore!  Max and Addie had a blast.  I of course had to put an old blanket under it so that Addie didn't touch the grass.  Such a girlie-girl.  Makes me laugh!
 She went down the slide...
and climbed up the slide!

We had so much fun outside last night!  It reminded me of just how fast Addison is growing up.  She is learning so much and keeps the surprises coming!
We even played peek-a-boo.  These are my favorite pictures!  Max and Addie are quite the pair.  She is always thrilled to see her uncle Max and thinks he is just the coolest thing!  She is such a goofball when he is around!  But, Max is also quite the goofball, so she much get that from him!

Mouths open!

PEEK!

Happy Tuesday!

Happy 11 Months!

Addison turned 11 months today!!  I am feeling that the countdown really begins today.  Addie turns a year old in exactly one month.  Completely hard to wrap my mind around!  Addie has grown so much over these past 11 months, it is so hard to believe how much one little soul can change your life so completely.  Dan and I continue to look at her each and every day in awe that she is OUR little girl, and she is so precious to us!  We can not wait to celebrate that big day with her!

You may ask what we did to celebrate 11 months...

We took clothes basket rides of course!
Addie loves doing this.  When I go to do laundry she expects a clothes basket ride back if one is sitting out!

We played with Emma outside.  She then decided she needed to come in the house with us.  We let Emma in the house every now and then.  She is house trained, so it is no big deal!  Thank goodness we have a very calm dog, because Addie loves to pick on Emma.  We have noticed that Emma really tries to keep her distance...lol!  She must not like Addie tugging on her ears.  I know this isn't a very good picture, but you try to put a dog and 11 month old in one picture!

And then we got so tired that we fell asleep during her snack!  This seems to be a frequent occurrence these days!

The day ended having supper with Grandpa and Grandma.  Addie was very tuckered out at the end of the day and went right to bed!

LIFE IS GOOD!!
