fun with friends!

Last weekend we had some of our friends from high school over with their kiddos!  The kids loved playing together and the adults had a great time catching up!

Autumn and Addie helping each other with their shapes...

Our attempts at getting the kids together for pictures...notice Addie picking her nose!

Addie and Maverick really seemed to like each other!

I don't know what Addie said, but Maverick didn't like it!

Addie putting on her silly face, and Autumn putting on her mean girl face!  Kelsi says she has been working on that!

This is what our house looked like when the fun was over!  It was SO worth it.  Addie helped me pick up the next morning.  We played the "put the toys in the bucket" game!
It was wonderful to get everyone together!  Thanks to all our wonderful friends for all the fun!  We must do it again SOON!
**Be sure to check out posts below!  I did a little catching up today.**

All better, Daddy...

One night Dan shaved and had a little "owie" on his face.  Addie noticed right away and began running to the bathroom.  She turned around to say "one minute, get man-aid (band-aid)!"

She went and got daddy a band-aid and made daddy feel all better.

Then she got one for herself!  Daddy and Addie match!

Got to love this girl!!

Our first day of Sunday School!

Addie and I had our first day of Sunday School this morning.  Addie did great with all the kids, even though they are a year or more older than she is!

Enjoying her snack...

After class we did our annual balloon lift off.  Addie wanted to let go of her right away, so mom held on to the end of the string!

Our little Addie is growing up so fast!  I love soaking in all these memories with her!

5 years...

It's hard to believe that it has been five years since Dan and I were married!  I guess time flies when you are having fun!  We have been so blessed these past five years -- or 12 years, if you want to count the dating years!
We were looking back at pictures today.  Here is a few to share...

Little Max was nearly 3 in this picture.  As we were looking through pictures Addie thought this was her!  I can definitely see the resemblance!

We had a great wedding party...so much fun!!

We were very nice to one another...

Our wedding cake was the best!  So I ordered one for our anniversary.  Just as delicious as on our wedding day!  Addie got the first piece.  She thought it was pretty good too!

Working with Hospice I run in to so many couples who have been married for 60+ years.  That is truly amazing.  As they are nearing the end of their lives they are just as much in love with each other as they were in the beginning.  They always tell me that not all days were good, but the majority were, and to be thankful for them.  To never take a day for granted, because one day, the days with the one you love will no longer be.  Definitely a great way to live. I pray that one day Dan and I can share our story and the wonderful marriage and love we had.
I feel so very blessed that I will be walking beside the man I love for the rest of our lives.

23 months...

Addie actually was 23 months about a week ago, but I am FINALLY getting her post up.  My heart started racing as I said that because I realized that in three short weeks, we are going to have a 2 year old on our hands!!!

It has been quite busy around here, and we are finally adjusting to the fact that this is just the way our life is now.  Never a dull moment, that is for sure!

 Making a mess...

Some nights roles are reversed...Addie reads to us!

Hard to believe that we were dressed so warm just a week ago!

A quick update on Addie...
~She is in love with her babies.  She is a good momma (learns from the best!)
~Addie loves doing our hair.  Unfortunately, she is pretty rough, but if you say "ouch" she gives you a kiss!
~She talks up a storm and learns new phrases all the time.
~Loves picking out her clothes and dressing herself.
~Can sit and watch a movie!  We had our first movie night and watched Tangled.  She now LOVES that movie!
~She is a lover.  Always telling us "love you, mom or love you, dad."  I'll have to admit that this is one of the most precious things about being a parent.  The words melt my heart!
~She has become Daddy's little helper with the cows.  She loves to milk cows!
~She has wonderful manners.  It is not very often that we have to remind her to use them.  Please, thank you, welcome (you're welcome), excuse me...just to name some she uses often.

On Sunday we start Sunday School.  This year I am teaching the nursery class so that Addie can go with me.  I am SO thankful that our church is accommodating to me and the fact that I am away from home more often now.  I almost didn't teach because I would miss that time with Addie.  Now I get the best of both worlds!!

I think that is it for now.  My computer hasn't been working, so I have a lot of pictures to share and catch up on!  I will be doing her big 2 year post here in a few weeks!!  Have a great night!!
