28 Weeks...

Twenty-eight weeks and we have a talkin', movin', teethin', energetic little girl!!  Today we went and played in the park.  A beautiful day in Iowa!  Addison loves to play outside, especially when she gets to watch other kids!

This past weekend we spent much of our time getting ready for the move.  Dan spent his time in the barn getting ready for the cows.  I don't think that I have mentioned that yet!  We are venturing into the dairy business again!  Dan is so excited to have his own herd again and the cows will be arriving in the next month or so.  We plan on moving back to the farm as soon as our house sells here.  I spent the weekend sorting through things making a "keep pile" and a "garage sale pile."  Fortunately the garage sale pile was much larger than the keep pile so there will be a huge garage sale to follow in a few months!

Addison has also kept us busy this past week!  She is working SO hard on learning how to crawl.  She is now rocking back and forth and will plummet a few inches forward!  At this point she does most of her moving scooting on her back! As you can see she is ALL OVER the living room.  She scoots around exploring the different textures of everything!  It is so funny because she ends up in the strangest places and playing with the strangest things....

Like here where she is playing with the couch...
Or here where she is playing with the t.v. stand.

Addison got her third tooth in on Saturday (her top left tooth)! Again we didn't have any problems or fussiness!  We are SO lucky!!  She now feels the need to bite her spoon every time we feed her!  Addie continues to eat all her orange veggies and tolerates her green veggies.  If I mix them with an orange veggie she eats them much better.  We have also started on fruit this week.  I mix some fruit with her morning oatmeal or rice cereal and she loves it.  We have had bananas and applesauce.  Addie has also mastered the art of eating with her eyes closed.  This is the result of skipping her morning nap because she was too interested in playing with her toys!  Even though she ate with her eyes closed, she would still fuss if you did not get the food to her mouth fast enough!

Here are a few pictures captured from this week...

Addie always has her feet in her hands!  Here she is hanging out in the chair.

Apparently drinking out of the teacup is a little upscale for our little Addie.  She goes straight for the good stuff - right out of the teapot!!

I was changing her for bed one night and was having trouble getting her shirt over her big head!  I thought that this would be a cute picture so I went and grabbed my camera.  Addison did not think this was so cool and continued to try and get the darn shirt off her head!

Addison and her Daddy hanging out on the couch!
We are hoping that the rest of the week is not as hectic as it has been around here!  We are looking forward to a relaxing weekend at the camper.  Addie's first camping weekend!!!  Everyone enjoy the rest of their week and I am hoping that I have Addie's six month pictures to share before the weekend.  I am getting pretty anxious to see them!!

27 Weeks...

Addison is 27 weeks today!  This week we have been pretty busy as a family and so has Addison!  She has two new words for this week...She is finally saying "dada," much to Dan's excitement.  She sits and will say "dada" all day long!  Her other new word is "ya."  It is so funny when we ask her a question and she comes back with the answer "ya!!"  Completely a fluke, but funny nonetheless!!
She continues to work on getting around the house.  She is working on her crawling, but continues to push herself backwards.  In the end she either gets mad because she is not going to where she wants to or she gets stuck in a corner or her legs get stuck under the couch!  She rolls to get places if she really wants to, but her new favorite way to move is on her back, hiking her legs up and pushing herself back.  This makes diaper changing that much more interesting!

She also has her uncles to encourage her!
Addison has also started dancing!  I noticed that she would rock back and forth when she would do her sounds with her mouth and that is where it started.  On Sunday when we were in church and the music was playing she started dancing again!  It is SO cute!  She will even do it while you are talking to her.  If you saw her video from last week you can see her dancing while she does her spitting noise!

Addison has now moved to eating full baby food that is not mixed with cereal.  I started her on Gerber 2nd Foods because there seems to be more of a variety and the doctor said that she was ready for them.  She is a VERY good eater and likes most of her food.  She continues to dislike peas, and much to her dismay I keep making her try them!  Yesterday I had her eat a couple of bites before she began to gag on them...poor girl.  I plan on trying green beans next, but she does not seem to really like her green veggies.  We have yet to try any fruit because I want her to be eating her veggies really well before we do that.  This is what her menu looks like during the day...
- At about 8:30am she eats her breakfast which consists of either rice cereal or oatmeal.  Usually oatmeal because she seems to like it much better than her rice cereal.
- Around 12:30pm she eats her lunch.  She has had a bottle in between lunch and breakfast along with her morning nap.  For lunch we have had sweet potatoes, squash, peas, and carrots.  All of which she enjoys other than the peas.
- She eats supper around 6:30-7:00pm and eats the same items that she does for lunch.  I always feed her something different than what we had for lunch so she gets a variety! Before bed she has a 4 oz. bottle with half breast milk and half formula and she is normally in bed by 9pm.
I try to stick to this schedule as much as possible, but as we all know life can get crazy at times.  I have learned to relax if we are not running on schedule and just go with the flow!

Look how big her little two teeth are getting!

Watching the boys play baseball with Grandma on Easter.

Good Morning Addie girl!!  Waking up in Mommy and Daddy's bed after the storms woke her up in the night.

Addison telling Mommy a story!  You can see her teeth again!! :)

Tea time with Mommy!  Addison is pouring me a cup!  She loves her new tea set from the Easter Bunny and all the noises it makes!
We are so very blessed to have such a sweet little girl.  We thank God for her each and every day!

All About Mommy...
Well, today is the day!  I have made the decision to quit pumping.  This was not an easy decision for me and it is truly hard for me to accept that it is time to quit. I consider it an addiction.  I love to hoard my milk so that Addison can get all that she would ever need.  I feel like I am failing her in some way because my milk supply has gone down so greatly.  On the other hand we have plenty of frozen milk to hopefully get us by for the next six months.
We are doing good so far.  I pumped last night around 10:30pm and have not pumped since (it is about 2pm as I am writing this!).  I plan to pump a little before heading to my last visit, just so I am not uncomfortable and I do not get a clogged duct.  It is going to be a rough week, but I CAN DO IT!!  I am so grateful that I have been able to produce so much milk for my little girl to keep her healthy these past six months!

Everyone have a great week!  We have Addison's 6 month pictures tomorrow, now that Daddy's face is pretty well healed!  I will share them once we get them back!!

Our First Easter...

Hello! We hope that everyone had a fabulous Easter holiday!  We had a wonderful "first" Easter as a family of three!  On the eve of Easter Addison put out her Easter basket for the bunny and she woke up to a full basket!  Her reaction was priceless!  She already loves to see new toys!  Dan had brought her downstairs and was sitting on the couch with her.  I grabbed her Easter basket and held it up and her little eyes just lit up with a BIG smile on her face.  We set her down next to it and away she went taking every item out of it.  I had to steal it from her before she tried to get the grass out!

After playing with all her toys we headed in to church for breakfast made by our youth group.  Addison was the center of attention with many.  Everyone loved her pretty dress and her bow!  I love dressing her up!  She was great in church and is now dancing to the music when jubilee plays!  This was also the case on Good Friday when we had our silent service.  Addie was not silent, she wanted to talk and sing.  Thank goodness everyone just turned and smiled at us.  Oh the joy having kids...lol!  I shouldn't complain she is a very happy babe!! After church we went to Dan's parents and then off to my parents.

Addie digging in her Easter basket.

Yummm...Easter bunny rattle!

A sippy cup with her name on it!!

We had to get ready for church, but all Addie wanted to do was play with her toys!!

Daddy and Addie after church.

Here is a picture so you can see her little dress.  I had originally bought a dress from Target that was not very fancy so that she could wear it other than on Easter, then I found this one!  Have I said how much I love consignment stores? Especially with baby clothes because they do not wear them for very long!  I got this dress at Two 4 Tots in Waterloo.  The dress was $6 and the sweater was $3!! Can't beat that! The bow in her hair was just as expensive as her entire outfit!

Another Easter basket from Grandma and Grandpa G.  She also got an outfit from Auntie Em!

Grandpa and Grandma H. with Addie.  I don't have many pictures of them because they both hate taking pictures!  Addie got a new swing from them to put outside this summer along with more toys!!

We had a great first Easter together.  Addison was tuckered out last night after all the excitement over the weekend!  We are taking today to recuperate at home!  Addison loves playing with all her new toys and I am so excited to hang her new swing, although we are going to wait until we move!  We are so blessed to have such a wonderful family!  Thank you to everyone who made our first Easter together so special!  We love you!!

Cruisin’ in My New Car Seats

Hey...Look at what Mommy and Daddy got for me! New car seats to ride in! Yay...no more little carrier!!

I even helped Daddy put them together!

Here I am before they strapped me in.  I wish I could ride like this all the time!!

This is the car seat for Mommy's vehicle...

and here I am in Daddy's.  I think I like them both!
Thanks for stopping by!  Mom says she is going to put Easter pictures up later when I am taking my nap! So be sure to come back and see those!

Six Month Well Baby Check...

Addison had her well baby check up this morning. She weighed in at 18lbs. 4oz. and was 27 inches long (71 percentile). Only 4 more pounds or 2 more inches and she will outgrow her carrier! Time to get the big carseat out of the box!!

The doctor said that she was in great health. She continued to say how great she acted and how healthy she was during the appt. Nothing can make a mother happier! We spoke about eating plain baby food now and eating three times per day. We came home and ate our squash and she adjusted just fine with no cereal mixed.

We also addressed Addison's dry skin. We are going to have to give baths minimally and put Aquaphilic on after her baths and before bed. Hopefully this helps! Other than that not too much else to report. She did great with her shot and only cried for about 10 sec. until I picked her up. As soon as I picked her up she was smiling and talking to the nurse! We have not given any Tylenol these past two appts. because she seems to do just fine as you can see...

Addison has started a new noise with her lips! It's so cute!! She also dances when she does it which makes it even funnier...lol!
