our weekend...

This weekend was our town's celebration.  Addie enjoyed the entire weekend and really enjoyed the fireworks.  I think we are still detoxing from all the candy she got away with eating this weekend from the parade, totally Dan's fault!

Addie spent a few hours jumping and climbing.  She loved it!

Then spent some time playing in the dirt...she was FILTHY!!  I am so glad she doesn't do this often.

We then took the little dirtball to watch the fireworks.  She had a great time telling us the colors!

There was also music going on during the fireworks...Addie took full advantage of watching the fireworks and dancing!

On Friday night Dan and I had a date night.  We went to the Butler Co. Fair to see Jake Owen.  He was great, but the crowd was a little wild!  The best part was running into friends while we were there!  We were pretty close to the stage!  This was taken with my phone...
I LOVE summer time!!

Father's Day 2012

I know, this post is a few weeks late...sorry daddy!!  We had a wonderful Sunday, spending the day with daddy and grilling (on daddy's new grill he got for Father's Day)!!

We also took a little hike.  Addie enjoyed picking flowers...

Later that day, my family came over for some water fun...

After playing in the water, Addie and I made Daddy his favorite cake.  Addie kept "accidentally" stirring the chocolate on her finger.  She would say, "Oops, got to lick it!"

On Monday we spent the day with Dan's family and celebrated his dad's birthday and Father's day.  The only problem is that I didn't take any pictures...darn!  Anyway, great weekend with the family!

movie night!

Last night Dan left for a coon hunt with a few of his buddies, so Addie and I went with my parents (along with Max and his little buddy) to Madagascar 3 in 3D!  Addie does pretty well at movies, other than she likes to hop around and sit with different people.  The other difficult thing were those 3D glasses.  They were too big for me!  Poor Addie had a hard time keeping them on.  Overall it was a great movie, and I still have the circus song in my head!  Here is a photo of the kiddos...

The boys think they are pretty cool...

Today we are taking a road trip, guess we will see where this beautiful Sunday will be taking us!!
Have a great one!

Addie Funnies...

After a day playing in the park, Addie fell asleep on the way home.  I attempted to put her back to sleep in bed when we got home.  After laying there for 20 minutes she came out of her room.  This is the conversation that took place...
Mom: Hey, What are you doing up?  Did you even sleep while you were laying down?
Addie: Nope.
Mom: You should really lay down and take a little longer nap.
Addie: Sorry, mom, but I don't have time to take a nap today.  I have to go poop.

Playing outside with Addie the other day and Emma was running around with us.  Addie's conversation with Emma...
Addie: Emma, you are such a good puppy, I love you so much.
Mom: Emma is a good doggy, isn't she?
Addie: Yes, mom.
Addie (to Emma):  Good job, Emma.  You are such a good girl.  I am so proud of you!

We had a tree fall outside the house on Tuesday.  Addie gets up to the window to look at it after her nap.
Addie: Wow, the tree fell outside!
Mom: Yep, the tree fell in the yard, didn't it?
Addie: Yeah, we can fix it mom!
Mom: Oh yeah, how?
Addie: I don't know, but we can fix it.

Addie was telling Dan something (neither Dan nor I still know what she was saying).  Dan asked her a few times what she was saying, when she finally states in frustration, "I guess I don't know what I'm saying!"

Dan is playing outside with Addie today when she sees an ant on her swing set.  She points to it and says, "Look Dad, a crab!"

Getting Addie into the house at night to cook supper is quite the fiasco.  She loves being outside.  Dan and I have recently been trying out different bath times to see what really works best in all our schedules.  At this time, we were going to try to have her take a bath as soon as we came in the house. (we have since decided otherwise) Tonight I brought her in and told her that we needed to take a bath.  While crying that she had to get in the bath she kept repeating, "This is not a good idea!"  As she was in her bath she said to me, "This was not a good idea, mom.  I don't like this at all!"  I am happy she is able to express herself, although I wish it didn't have to involve so much crying!!

I think this is it for now.  I am trying to keep track of her "thoughts" a little better.  Some of the things we hear are pretty hilarious and we don't want to forget them!  When you have those moments when your child is driving you absolutely crazy -- this is wonderful therapy.  It truly makes you remember how remarkable they are and that we all have good days and bad days!

kittens

We had 5 new baby kittens born on the farm and they are finally ready to be played with!  Addie loves her kitties and will take any chance she gets to play with them!

They are all so darn cute.  All five are calico kitties, and I have heard that all calico cats are female.  If that is true, we are going to be having lots of kitties in our future.  Let's hope that we have a better year of survival than last year...  Guess that what happens when you live on a farm (and a main highway).
