36 Weeks...

We have been a busy bunch this week getting ready for the big moving day, which we are planning to have take place on Sunday!  That is if the weather holds up for us!  I have spent this week packing, cleaning, helping with the dairy, working, and trying to keep our little Addie from staying out of trouble.  This does not leave much time for picture taking, so I apologize for the lack of pictures on today's post!

Speaking of keeping Addison out of trouble.  The poor girl has a bruise on her forehead and one on her eye.  She also has a scratched nose!  The funny part is that all three came from different incidents!  This little girl is getting into EVERYTHING!!  If I could keep her in a bubble I would, but with her it is impossible!  I try to let her explore her world, but she doesn't always do it so gracefully.  I think she gets that from me!  The bruise on her forehead is from playing on the floor with me.  She was goofing off and went forward and hit her head on my hip bone...ouch!  She let me know it hurt!  The bruise next to her eye is from her crib.  She was trying to stand up in it, slipped and hit her eye.  And the scratch on the nose is from her favorite spot to go...the t.v. stand!  She was playing with the buttons again and thought she could let go, but found out that she is not too sturdy yet!  See, I can explain all of them...lol!!

Besides getting into a lot of mischief there isn't too much new with Addie this week.  She has started this new "roar" as I like to call it!  She is our little Addie monster.  It is funny because once she finds a new sound, that seems to be all she does!  She even wakes up doing it!  She has also learned a new laugh.  She laughs with her tough between her teeth so she can spray everyone with spit!  She thinks it is the coolest thing in the world!

We are hopeful that moving will all go well and we will be all moved by next week and settled in by the weekend after!  I am SO lucky that I have such a flexible schedule with work so I can be around when we move!  I am so ready to get back into our routine.  It is going to be a new routine, but a ROUTINE nonetheless!  Our little Addie will be living the life of a farm child before we know it!  Tomorrow I am going to take her out the see our twin babies we had today!  She will love it!  Will have to get pics up of that!

So, I took more pictures than I thought...ENJOY!!

This is one of the things I am really going to miss from this house.  We take such great strolls on the highway here!  It is nice because our road turns to gravel so there is hardly anyone that drives it, and it is great to walk on!  Plus there is beautiful scenery!  Our new house sits on a main highway, so it is not safe to walk on, but thank goodness we are only 1/2 mile out of town so we can drive in and take a stroll!
Addie is really into television, which is why we don't have it on too often.  Her favorite show is AFV, especially when a baby come on!

Addie and I playing "this little piggy!"

Bath time!  Which are now taken in the sink.  It is so much easier for me!  We are giving her a bath every night now and have included it into her night routine.  She seems to sleep more soundly with taking a bath at night.
Her favorite time though is right before her bath.  I take off her clothes and she gets to crawl to me naked!  She thinks it is the best thing in the world!  If I was more daring I would let her go longer.  Maybe when we move and we have wood floors!

This her new toy and she absolutely LOVES it.  She especially likes to sing the ABC's with you.  It is so cute to here her hum right along with you!

And for our final picture of the night...Addie helping mommy pack (or unpack)!  See those DVD's on the floor...well, that is what Addie unpacked!  I know I shouldn't have stacked them so high, but I was trying to get them out of the way until I got another box to put the rest in!  You can also see that she has plenty of movies to keep her busy that were handed down from Uncle Max!  And yes, she is eating the cardboard!  I tried to give her a box to play with to keep her busy and this is what happened!   I just can't win!

Everyone have a great week!!

Oh, the Things We Do!!

I never thought in a million-gazillion years that I would be doing what I have been doing these past few days!  I grew up a town girl.  My chores consisted of doing the dishes and vacuuming the floor and I have always been extremely grossed out by farm life...lol!  I remember growing up and staying at one of my great friend's house and helping her with chicken chores.  We would go out and get the eggs and every now and then go out and watch baby pigs being born!  (sidenote for my friend Kayln...you remember when the lights went out on us while we were with the pigs...SO creepy.  Got to love the great memories we have shared!)  Anyway on with the story... I hated farm life.  And now somehow is has become the center of our lives!

My wonderful husband has been so busy lately trying to keep up his dairy farm and his full-time job that we have not been able to see much of him lately.  It's been quite a drag for Addie and I, we miss daddy when he is gone!  Considering I only work at my job about 10hrs/week I decided that it was time for me to step up to the plate and help my poor hard-working husband out.  Mainly for selfish reasons...the main one being so I could spend more time with him and get him home sooner!

I began helping him yesterday, and to my surprise.....I enjoyed it -- A LOT!  Don't get me wrong, it is a LOT of hard work.  I have not worked so hard probably my entire life.  I enjoyed that alone time with my husband, which seems to be a rare commodity these days.  We had a lot of fun together.  The scooping of the poo and the other "gross" things I had to do didn't seem so bad with him by my side!  I even got to learn how to drive the skid loader!  Took a little practice, but I am getting the hang of things!  And what is work if I am not wearing cute boots??  Don't you just love my yellow polka-dot boots!

I don't think I have ever been so tired and worn out at the end of the day!  ugh...  It all starts over again tomorrow so I better get rested up!

Oh...and moving!  We should start moving around next weekend.  Dan's parents will be moving this weekend and I want to take the week to paint and clean before we move our things in.  We are in no rush, other than it would be nice to get there so we are not driving back and forth all the time.  We are still working on selling our house, but we will continue to pray that it sells soon!  Hope everyone has a great night!  I am off to bed!!

35 Weeks...

Wow...Addie is 35 weeks today and what a busy week we have had!  This post will include many many pictures from our weekend!

Addie has also been a busy girl this week!  She has learned to clap her hands together and play pat-a-cake with you, and dance and clap her hands while music is playing!  She is just so dang cute to watch!

She is also learning to follow simple commands like "give mommy a kiss," "can Addie jump, jump, jump," as she begins to jump on our laps, and the infamous word of "no!"  It is just so amazing to think of how much this little girl is learning!

Addie is crawling all over the place, following me wherever I go, even to the bathroom!  I don't seem to have any privacy!  She is also crawling to places to get herself in trouble!  She loves to crawl to the t.v. stand and mess with the buttons on the dvr and dvd player.  She often pushes buttons that she shouldn't!

Addie is also talking SO much!  She loves to talk.  One day we called daddy and told Addie to say hi to daddy and she said "hiiii  dada!"  It was adorable and daddy was so proud of his little girl.  Mama and dada really seem to be her favorite words!

As for food we have started on more solids in pieces for her meals.  We mostly have focused on soft fruits, which she has really liked!  She has her six little teeth that help her chew foods!  A few weeks ago we also had to start mixing her breast milk with some formula to make the breast milk last longer.  We are mixing her bottles with 3oz. of breast milk and 2oz. of formula.  Addison has been eating very well!  We started running short on breast milk much faster than expected so we decided to do it this way to make it last longer.

Messy, messy girl!  Needless to say, we had to take a bath after this meal!

This weekend was a very busy weekend for us.  Addie and I went camping this weekend.  Daddy had to work so we went because of the long weekend.  We just stayed on Saturday night, but had a blast.  I took Addie on several walks and went to the beach for Addie to put her feet in the sand.  At the end of the day, she was tuckered out as you can see in her pictures!

We had Dan's cousin's graduation on Sunday night.  Addie had a lot of fun meeting all the kids in the family and we were able to see little Maverick again (our friend's baby boy).  Addie really just wanted to play with him, but he is only six weeks old!  We got a picture of them with Addie putting her hand around him like she was hugging him, it was so cute!

Playing with Daddy!

Monday we had a family picnic.  Addie had a blast here as well.  Uncle Mike brought his new puppy Titan and he was just Addison's size so she loved him.  She was not too thrilled when he tried to use her toes as a chew toy though!

Grandma Jen and Addie playing with Titan!

Addie riding on Uncle Mike.

I don't know why, but this was Addison's favorite toy for the day!  A beanbag board.  Strange I know!  But she continued to crawl to it the entire day!  At one point Addie's Great Aunt Vicky was laying on the ground with her head in the hole.  Addie really went crazy then!

This weekend I also broke my digital camera.  The camera that I take EVERYWHERE!  I was so upset.  I was trying to answer my phone when it came off my wrist and fell onto the cement.  The darn thing wouldn't even turn on :(  The bad part is that my camera isn't even that old.  I got it just before Addie was born for our anniversary.  I still need to get a video up of her crawling.  Just wait, it is coming.  The camera breaking will delay it a little.  I am shopping for a new one and will hopefully have one by next week.  Thank goodness I have my big camera.  I don't know what I would do if I had no camera at all!  I would be lost!

Thanks for stopping by!!  Everyone have a great week!

Happy Eight Months!!!

Addison is eight months old today!  It is just so hard to believe just how fast eight months can go.  Our lives have changed so much from month to month that even I have a hard time keeping up, and I am the one living in the middle of it!  Addison has become SO active this past month that it is going to be hard to keep up with this little ball of energy!  I am constantly having to watch her to make sure she is not getting herself into trouble!  She is an explorer, learning new things each and every day.  Learning how the world works around her.  Would it not be amazing to find such little things in life so exciting!?

As I write this I am laying here in the camper bed with little Addison.  She is softly snoring next to her mommy.  Oh how I love to watch her sleep.  I could just lay here forever and watch her!  She is so beautiful and I really love it when she cracks a smile or says "mommy" in her sleep!

Tonight I am just thankful she is sleeping.  Our last trip to the camper was not so good.  She would not sleep!  She is so used to her own little routine and being in her own home to go to sleep, that this out of routine - in a different bed thing just doesn't go well with her!  We will pray that she sleeps for mommy and maybe I can get some cuddling in when she gets up in the morning!

I apologize for not having any pictures on here.  We are spending tonight and most of the day tomorrow at the camper.  I have access to the internet here, but forgot my camera cord to upload pictures!  I know most of you would say that this is not camping, but it is MY style of camping.  Internet, cable, and air conditioning included!  Spoiled...I know!!  I will be sure to post our pictures from the weekend later!

Goodnight!!

A Post of Many Things!

I have a few updates and stories to share today!

First I wanted to start off this Addie's doctor's appointment yesterday.  She had what seemed to me at first a diaper rash coming on, but when nothing was working on it, I decided to call her doctor.  I knew it had to be something different.  So we went into the doctor to find out the the poor girl had a yeast infection.  (She is going to love me someday for talking about this on here!!)  We were prescribed two ointments that already seem to be working for her!  The news that I really wanted to share was how much she weighed at her appointment!  If you see our little Addie you will know that she is quite the chunky monkey and we love that!  She weighed in at 20lbs. 11oz.!!!!  I was worried because I read in my parenting magazine that babies should only have tripled their birth weight by one year.  This means that at one year Addie should only weigh 22lbs. 4oz.  Well, I am pretty sure that she is going to exceed that considering she could only gain 2lbs in four months!  Her doctor said that she is just fine and that as long as she stays within the same curve for weight they are not concerned.  Thank goodness!  I was also told (by the nurse) that she is advanced for her age and that she should walk early!  I really don't know what her basis is for that, and she may tell every mom that to make them feel good, but it worked!  I always love to hear things like that!  What mother doesn't?

On to the second matter of the post.  I wanted to share/remember our morning!  This morning Addie was up pretty early.  She usually gets up early, eats a bottle, and goes back to bed until around 9:30am.  This morning after about 10 minutes of her whining I knew she was not going to go back to sleep.  I got myself out of bed and went down to make her a bottle, not even looking in on Addie before I went downstairs.  I came up to give her the bottle and she was sitting up in the very corner of her crib, trying to sleep sitting up!  It was so cute!

And on the last matter.  As you may have already noticed, I decided to change the name of our blog.  I thought that this sounded a little more creative and I liked it, so I am going to change it.  I don't know if this is like an "illegal blog thing," but when have I ever done what I was told!! LOL!  I know that we don't exactly have a "clan" yet, but we will in the future!  So I hope you like the new title.  Let me know what you think!
